CPM Calculator
Enter any two of cost, impressions, or CPM and leave the third blank to solve it.
How CPM works
CPM, or cost per thousand impressions, lets you compare the price of ad campaigns at different scales on a level footing. The formula is CPM = (cost ÷ impressions) × 1,000. Rearranged, cost = CPM × impressions ÷ 1,000 and impressions = cost ÷ CPM × 1,000, so knowing any two values gives you the third.
Frequently asked questions
What is CPM?
CPM stands for cost per mille — the cost of one thousand ad impressions. It is calculated as (total cost ÷ impressions) × 1,000 and is the standard way to price and compare display advertising.
How do I calculate CPM?
Divide the total campaign cost by the number of impressions, then multiply by 1,000. For example, $500 for 100,000 impressions is a $5 CPM.
Can I work backwards from a target CPM?
Yes. Leave any one field blank and fill in the other two — this calculator solves for the missing cost, impressions, or CPM.
